Milk and Cookies and Cannabis for the Homeless 2017

It's that time of year!!!:)
This is our 7th year handing out these amazing gift bags provided by Canada’s Cannabis Community!  This year we gave out  150 bags. These bags included: winter coats, gloves, toques, scarves, socks, hand warmers, loaded food cards for Tim’s and McDonalds, teas, razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, wet wipes, shampoo/ conditioner and other toiletries, milk cookies..... and for those who wanted- a little gift of cannabis with rolling papers and a lighter.
This year you may find the video a little shorter(and for good reason!) we spent a lot time at a women’s shelter chatting with women who lived there and handing out purses and tote bags. Many of these women have ran from domestic violence. After speaking with a woman for a bit, I decided we shouldn’t use any footage from there for possible safety  concerns . We ended the day at Overdose Prevention site at Moss Park. We brought the lovely workers there some coffee and loaded Tim’s cards for when they needed them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Year one was just a few bags with gloves,  a toque and cannabis. Our Cannabis community really knows how to come together and make things grow!(lol)

... year 8 will be even better!!

Thank you again to EVERYONE that makes this possible!!

Thankyou, thank you, THANK YOU!!

Lotsa Love,

'Tis the season to spread love and warmth ... and what better way to do that than giving out winter essentials and hugs to people on our cold Toronto streets.  'Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless' all started in 2011 when I met a man living on the streets that I really wanted to make warm. I would see this man everyday on my way to work and I'd always strike up a conversation with him. As the months got colder he still had the same clothes on he wore in the summer. I brought him some pants from a  friend(they were the same size) and he happily accepted them. I knew I wanted to do more! Not just for him but for others too. That's where the idea of Milk And Cookies And Cannabis for the Homeless came from. I asked friends over social media if they could donate hats and gloves and a few other items and the response was fabulous! Year one I gave out around 25 bags with a pair of gloves, a toque, rolling papers, a lighter and some cannabis in them along with a carton of milk and chocolate chip cookies I made.

We just finished the 6th annual "Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless" As you'll see in the video, it's grown so big I needed helpers!! This year's bags included; a winter coat, gloves, a toque, a scarf, hand warmers, socks, toothbrush and tooth paste, deodorant, meal replacment drinks, a free Starbucks drink, a $10 food card to McDonald's or Tim Hortons, rolling papers, a grinder, cannabis, milk and cookies. The bags for women also included a purse FULL of feminine hygiene products and other items like nail files, polish, hand creams, etc.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated, collected items at their locations, helped organize,  and to all who spread the word about this event of giving! John and Julie from Highway magazine and to the ladies from the Green Market , thank you! (I'm sorry your names may have been forgotten in the mentions. Your donations were greatly appreciated!

.......Until next year's Milk and Cookies LOTSA LOVE!

Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless 2015

It's that time of year again - Milk and Cookies and Cannabis for the Homeless 2015! Thanks to our fabulous Cannabis Community we gave out 50 gift bags or love, understanding and warmth! This is now the 5th year we have been doing this and I am so thankful and appreciative for everyone's support! "Milk and Cookies' receives donations from coast to coast and every year it grows and grows!
This year each bag included: a winter coat, gloves, toque, gloves, scarf, hand warmers, socks, milk, cookies, a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, a supplement drink, milk, cookies(made by the lovely SweetFreak Baker), a Tim Horton's gift card, papers, lighter and of course CANNABIS! The big addition this year was geared towards the ladies. We had many purses filled with many toiletries and different snacks donated by a few exceptional women I know- LOVE!!!
Not all of these people are homeless. Some  live in shelters, over crowded boarding houses and quite frankly some are just victims of circumstance. The important thing is helping others you see in need when you can! 5 years ago this started out as a small idea of giving winter essentials to people I saw on my way to work - look at how big it's grown! I encourage others to do the same! Run with your ideas! Help make the world a better place!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
                                                                            Lotsa Love!!!

There are so many feeling and emotions that go with this video that I cannot type out. I cannot thank the people who donated to help make this happen enough!!  This is the 4th year I have done this. Every year it gets bigger and better! This year we included winter jackets to the gifts. a total of 50 Gift bags were handed out to the less fortunate on the streets of Toronto. Each bag included a winter jacket, gloves, a hat, scarf, a couple pairs of socks, hand warmers, a food card to McDonald's, a lighter, rolling papers, milk, cookies and cannabis.

The last stop we made at Covenant House really made me think- especially when one of the boys said that this was the first gift he had received for Christmas in a while. These young adults are our future. We need to guide them! We need to support them! WE NEED TO SHOW THEM HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE! So please think about this video the next time you walk past someone on the street. Remember THEY MATTER!!

Schoolboy Q Stops By For For A Visit - I'm in for a fun, Hell Of A Night!

Life's been busy, good busy! Since my  last blog my shop has expanded, I've started filming more episodes of High Fuckers for SwearNet and currently I am collecting donations for Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless 2014. Don't get me wrong, I've been up to LOTSA fun however, I assumed the next blog I'd write would be about Milk And Cookies..... but then Schoolboy Q and A-Maxk(Mack) came to town! We had so much fun that I just couldn't miss blogging about this.

Honestly, I found out about the show the day before it. Last time Schoolboy Q (Q) was in town I didn't get to meet up with him or Mack due to timing issues. This time I knew I'd be free so I sent Mack a message letting him know. I was excited to meet them both as we have mutual friends and I'm also a fan of Q's music... That and they're backwoods smokers. We all know I love me my backwoods smokers. Lol!

Friday morning (Nov. 21) I wake up and go through my normal 'get ready for work' routine. I checked my phone and noticed I received a txt letting me know they had landed and asking me what time is be at the shop. I replied I'd msg them as soon as I got there and hurried my a$$ off to the shop. As promised, once I arrived I did.

About half an hour later Q, His bodyguard and Mack showed up. After all the introductions we sat down and got ready to smoke! I could tell already by their personalities that this was gonna be a fun visit. We had the Errlectric plugged in and ready to go. I grabbed a small slab of PK and offered them both some dabs while we rolled up. I showed them both how to use the enail. I took a dab then Mack took a dab and that's when the real fun started. These guys were cracking me up!!!! Lotsa funny videos and LOTSA jokes! We went outside to smoke  in our smoking shed and about half a cannon in, the cold was just too much.

Back inside we continued doing dabs!! Our eyes got redder and the laughs got louder. I dared Mack to take a half gram dab and he asked if one of us would do that. Evan volunteered his lungs and showed them how it was done. Mack decided he'd try a huge one, not as huge as Evan's but still pretty big. I asked him if it was kewl if I recorded it and he was kewl so I did. Q made a joke when he went to inhale and he started laughing and blamed him for messing his dab up. our cheeks were sore from laughing so much - honestly this is no exaggeration! We all chatted, laughed and smoked some more but then it was time for them to get to their hotel and me to open the shop up. We said our goodbyes until later as I planned on going to check the show out.

After a long fun day at work my friend Alisha(my smoking partner- she keeps up!) met me at the shop and we headed to the venue. When we arrived, we were met at the door by my friend and a man named Max. Perfect! Before I left that night I needed to connect with him so it was awesome I saw him right when I arrived. He brought Alisha and I in, gave us wristbands, and brought us backstage and introduced me to a few people. I sat in the room and started getting my blunts ready for when Schoolboy Q hit the stage. Max returns and tells me they're asking for me and to come with him- so I did. WAIT! Where's Alisha!? I can't leave her!  I asked max if he could go back and get her once he dropped me off to the dressing room/chill room and he was more than kewl with that (thank you!!) I walked in and it was hugs all around. I told Q and Mack I was  surprised they made it after their crazy morning and we all laughed! Blunts were being passed around, brilliant conversations were being had(maybe that was due to the cannabis haha), pictures were being took, I was drinking some AMAZING Apple mango juice(again maybe it was the cannabis but I swear that was the best juice ever!) 3 packs of backwoods in and looking for a forth- it was time for them to hit the stage

Alisha and I went to the back, side stage and watched the set from there. I felt like a concert bootlegger because I swear I recorded almost the entire thing on my phone.  The performance was soooo good that I didn't wanna stop recording and miss any of the awesomeness. I'm not sure of the right words to describe the audience. Maybe live is a good word, maybe down-as-funk but I think the real way to describe that crowd was TURNT UP!! Which are  words you rarely hear coming from my mouth but really that's the best description! One fan in the crowd ended up on stage and instead of having security remove him, Q put his arm on his shoulder and continued his set.  Man Of The Year came on the energy got even more intense! And I'm sure you can only image how the ladies went when Studio came on ;) Before Schoolboy Q left the stage he thanked everybody for their love and support. He basically said he didn't have a day job. This was his job and without his fans he wouldn't have a job. The best part was it wasn't something he just said. It was something you knew he whole heatedly meant when he said it.  He's an appreciative guy and I have an uber amount of respect for him!

Once Q and Mack left the stage the lights came on and people started filing out. I grabbed Alisha and we went to get coats from the backstage room. Security answered the door and invited us in. Unfortunately I couldn't  stay long because I had to work early in the morning. Kinda sucked because we were having so much fun but work is work so I grabbed my coat, said my goodbyes and Alisha and I headed home.

I was so exhausted that I barely finished my bedtime blunt when I got home. What a fun day! What great people! what a fabulous performance! And what will I get up to next?

Lotsa Love,

Summer 2014 - This is MY Weekend! Action Bronson & The Alchemist Stop By.  Then, I'm Off to Budweiser's New Music Fest in Barrie to See Classified's Set with My Son- Never a Dull Moment!

I knew I was going to the Budweiser New Music Fest in Barrie on Saturday BUT I didn't realize this was gonna be THE weekend my summer of 2014 memories were gonna be made of… let me explain:

I've wanted to take my son to a show with me for a very long time. I actually made it a goal that my son’s first show would be Classified. Why? Well because I love Classified’s music! It’s very positive, motivating and did I mention CANADIAN!?! The problem is most shows aren't all ages and quite frankly aren't places for 7 year old children to be. However, this was an all ages event and this was the perrrrrfect time and place. It was outdoors, it was family friendly… and Classified was headlining the event. So I was ELATED!! This was it!! My goal was happening.

I had to work Saturday so I woke up early, got dressed and gave my son the fabulous news that we’d be going to meet Classified later that night. He really likes Inner Ninja and Oh, Canada. I told him we’d get to dance on the stage to those songs in like 12 hours. He got excited! After all that I headed to CannDo, my shop I recently opened up downtown. When I arrived, I got a phone call from a friend saying Action Bronson was in town and was probably gonna stop by. KEWL! I love that dude. He’s a dab-pro-extraordinaire!! I called my friend Dan and asked him if he could come over and bring a new nail as mine was not at the shop for some weird reason and there was no way I wasn't gonna have a nail here waiting for when Bronson arrived.

A few hours passed and in walks Bronson and Mark (another super chill guy).. and The Alchemist!!!  We did some dabs and talked about the show Bronson is doing called “Fuck That’s Delicious” and how we wanted to do a show together. For those that don’t know Action Bronson is a serrrrrrious chef! After chillin out for a bit they had to go. Bronson had a performance to get to and I had to close the shop and head to Barrie. They told me they’d stop by tomorrow and return my torch (I let them borrow) before they left the city. I hugged them all goodbye and then started getting in “YAY my son’s coming to a show with me” mode

Once the shop was closed my friend Alisha and her daughter Jade came to meet me. They brought My son with them so we didn’t have to backtrack to pick him up. We were Barrie bound!!! Quick stop for some McDonald’s and we were on our way. I called Brian (DjIV - Classified’s Dj and a hell of a good friend of mine) and let him know our ETA. Him and Elijah set it up so I just had to tell security my name and drive on in - which we did.  As soon as we got out of the car my son basically ran on the tour bus. He was chatting up everybody and eating all the veggies. The smile on his face was priceless!! I was a happy Mom! Sebastian and Jade spent most of their time on the bus while I was just outside of it talking to friends. I walked in and asked him if he was behaving and Mike Boyd said ”Yup! We’re talking about cartoons” hahah - that’s my boy :)

Their set was about to start so I grabbed Sebastian and we all went to the side stage. At first my son was scared but he quickly got excited when the music started. We danced and danced and… ninja’d! Mike brought Sebastian over a sword and we kept doing ninja moves. I was having the time of my life - GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!!! :D  My friend Dutch tried to bring Sebastian up by the Dj booth but he was too scared but later on he said he wished he’d went (next time babes<3)

After their set was over we went back to the bus. Brian got Sebastian another sword so he practiced his suuuper ninja moves while Alisha and I said goodbye to everyone. It was late and the kids needed to go to bed(although they didn’t want to leave). I thanked Brian for making my son feel like a rockstar and then said my goodbyes to everybody else. Honestly it was THE BEST night of my summer. I know the summer isn’t over but i bet I’ll be saying the same exact thing at the end of the summer.

Woke up Sunday and I had to head to my shop CannDo. We are closed Sundays but I had some paperwork to do. On my way down I got a txt from mark saying they were on their way- perfect! I had just enough time to go grab Kayla from Vapor Central. I ran into VC quickly while she grabbed rubbing alcohol and then we went to my spot. They arrived shortly after we did. I talked to Alchemist a bit while Kayla and Bronson set up dabs. He’s one super humble man! I told him he’s always welcome back and to call whenever he’s in the city. Def a solid guy!

After some smoke and some dabs they had to catch their flight back home. They gave me a few things to hold on to till the next time they came and then once again, we said our goodbyes. I really like when Bronson stops in. He’s very educated and can dab like no other- always good times when he’s around!!

So now you know why this this weekend was so fabulous for me - GOAL ACCOMPLISHED and I got to see some of my out of town friends I wasn’t expecting ANDDDDDDD my son loved every minute of it and wants to go back again!

Lotsa Love,

Toronto's 2014 Global Marijuana March - An Insider's View

5/4/2014

Picture
The Global Marijuana March is held the first Saturday of May. Cities across the world gather on this day for  peaceful protests, celebration of a healing plant AND for those who view their cups half full, a day to happily reflect with our friends on how far we have come.. kinda … sorta.

Other than a few tense moments caused by extra large egos, Toronto’s Global Marijuana March was a huge success and fun was had by all.

Much like everybody else who contributes to or even attends GMM, I was up bright and early preparing for the fun times ahead of me. I had to charge my phone & iPad, find my external charger that went MIA a week ago, pre roll, reply to emails and also get myself ready. My plan for the day was to record the day’s festivities, which was being broadcast live on Cannabis.ca  I did this last year so I figured why not do it again this year. By the time I finished getting ready and  checked to make sure everything was working properly, Rob (who was helping me film)  arrived to take me to Queen’s Park.

Due to the highway closures we got there around 12:30pm. I hoped to be there right at noon when the gathering started but stuff happens, no biggie!  The park was already filling up. There were tables set up for sales, tents, dogs - BEAUTIFUL! I hit the record button and away I went to find people to talk to. I stopped and chatted with people about what they were smoking and how they were smoking it, you know the usual stuff. At one picnic bench, a friend went to show the lovely viewers how to do a dab and 2 people ninja dabbed him (Ninja Dabbed: stuck dabs on his nail at the same time he did) Everybody was having a good time.

As the March grew closer I headed towards the float/first vehicle. You get really fabulous crowd shots from there, especially when we turn down Yonge Street! While on my way I saw The Herbleaf.  I stopped and hung out with him for a bit.  He needed to medicate so I lit up a joint and gave him a few supers. As the crowd started walking towards the parade launch point I started walking to the first float with some people from the media for action shots. The music blared as a group of people started forming around the vehicle… but then there was a gap. There’s never a gap! The street is always rammed. I found it odd but figured the other vehicle, Puff Mama and The Killing Time Band, were just a little behind in getting ready. Turns out, I was wrong! An activist with his own agenda was holding up the march.

Why would he do this? Well, there are numerous reason but they all boil down to egos.  Egos and entitlement almost ruined this march for unsuspecting attendees. A handful of people  involved with  inner community politics couldn't put their  issues aside for a few hours on a day of unity. There always has to be a 'pissing contest.' Unfortunately our united community isn't all it appears sometimes.

After confirming with a few friends that a person running for Mayor of Toronto (or was running)  indeed was holding up the march I went over to talk to him. He and I were friends, we respected each other, I've even had him at my house to film a show- I mean that’s huge in my books, rarely do I let anybody into my private space. I figured I could speak with him and see what was wrong, possible help find a resolution for the people at war. I didn't want to see this march/parade ruined because people couldn’t put their egos aside. Right now Toronto is already the world’s joke with the Rob Ford crack scandal and now our cannabis community can’t even get their acts together- WHAT IS WRONG WITH US??? Back to the story. I walked over and asked him what was going on.  His response to me was very ignorant and filthy(told me to perform a sexual act on an officer). It was obvious he wasn’t thinking straight and I know his anger wasn’t directed at me but it was still quite offensive-especially since I was coming to help out.

Once their egos started deflating there was room for the attendees to start marching. Music was being played and people were chatting up the stranger next to them- this is what our community is really like! This is what MOST of us are about.  I walked through the crowd to the very back to try to get an estimate of the amount of people that were taking part. I’d say about 12 00 but I’m no stats pro. The vibes in the crowd were mostly of celebration with  a bit of confusion and a bit of annoyance for the stopping and starting without direction or reasoning. But onward everybody marched right back to where the march started - Queen’s Park.
                                                    VIEW FOOTAGE OF GMM

Picture
It was about 3:30 when I arrived back. That meant I had 50 minutes till 4:20! I went around the park again and talked to people about their medicine, products and costumes. I saw a bong as tall as me and talked to the owner about it for a bit. Sadly, the piece broke earlier so it had to be taped up. Thankfully, it still worked so all was good! After watching many people hit their bongs and watching a guy juggle like a prostar, it was almost 4:20.  I got my joint out and counted down with the crowd.  5-4-3-2-1 HAPPY 4:20!!!!! Smoke was everywhere. Joints were being passed around, bongs were being cleared and everybody was happy! Not one police incidence, no violence, just a bunch of people all sharing a global day of unity for the sake of cannabis. Around 5:00 the park started to clear out a bit. I was starving and so were the people I was with. We said our goodbyes to everybody and then headed over to Get Melted (a vapor lounge) for grilled cheeses and to smoke a joint sitting down. I stayed for food and a couple joints and then headed home.

Overall it really was a great day. The rain didn’t stop us, the turnout was huge and the sun came out for 4:20. Let’s hope our community can be a little more appropriate and a lot more mature next year - for the cause's sake!

Up next: CHAMPS Trade Show May 24-25 (23rd for vendor to vendor sales) and the Treating Yourself Cup!  See you there!

Lotsa Love,

4/20 Toronto "Wanna Know What I'm Happy About? It's Fo' Twenty!"

4/22/2014

Picture
Pounds of cannabis and thousands of people sure make a fabulous rally and celebration! 4/20 Toronto had all of that PLUS speeches, comedians, musicians, giveaways and a heck of alotta sunshine!

I woke up in Easter egg hunt mode. 4/20 fell on Easter this year so everything had to be timed juuuust right for me to be able to attend.  After finding all the eggs the Easter Bunny hid I had a couple hours to relax before I had to start getting ready to head downtown. I needed to be at Vapor Central by 11:30 to meet up with Dex, a cameraman that SwearNet.com arranged to follow me around for the day. 10:00 came and it was time for me to leave - I was off to celebrate 4/20!

I arrived at Vapor Central around 11:00am and it was already full of people! Flags were being distributed, people were finalizing their outfits for the day and many joints were being smoked. I chatted with everyone while I waited for Dex to arrive. Dex and I were going to be walking around the event interviewing and celebrating with people in the crowd and backstage. He got there about 5 minutes before the march to Yonge/Dundas Square which gave us just enough time to film an intro and everybody getting ready to leave.

Everybody that was in Vapor Central lined up behind the truck that we were to follow to the square. Matt Mernagh had his megaphone and was leading the crowd in chants and also spreading cannabis knowledge while we made our way down Yonge Street. The truck was pumping Classified tracks and lots of people were singing along (including me). Erin & Chris Goodwin along with other Hash Mob members kept the crowd on one side of the street which, after watch them, I realized is quite hard to do.  People were taking over the sidewalks, store owners came out to cheer everybody on. It was beautiful!  When we arrived at Yonge and Dundas, most people that followed the truck went up on stage and cheered on with the crowd of people that had already formed there. Opus went on stage to his 'lemonade style stand'  and proclaimed "The dealer is in"... which lead to people rushing the stage hoping to be able to purchase from him. Matt quickly captivated the crowd and the 4/20 celebration had begun!

Picture
After hanging out and interviewing a few people at the side stage, I went over to the booths that were set up along the perimeter of the square. There were edibles for sale, info on how to  obtain a prescription, legal advice, make your own bong kits and a bunch of other related stuff. I felt there was more at the booths this year than last year, maybe I'm wrong but I don't think I am. After chatting all the booth's up, I moved in to the crowd to see what everybody was smoking and how they were smoking it (or eating, or vaping.. or dabbing lol)  Nobody  was shy! Not one hesitation to tell me what and how they were consuming cannabis. On any other day, getting this info out of people wouldn't be this easy but remember IT'S 4/20!! This is not like any other day :) I found many bong smokers in the crowd with pieces ranging from $15 - upwards of $5000. I love hearing people tell me about their glass so I asked lotsa questions about the pieces when I saw them.  People recognized SwearNet on my mic and were coming up to talk to me about it.. or to just swear in the mic, it was hilarious!!! That's exactly what I was looking for seeing as my mouth isnt that foul when the camera is on. I try.. I'm getting much better but it's still a little hard to throw F-bombs on cam.  My friend Rob texted me to let me know him and Adrian had arrived so I went to meet up with them. Adrian, who owns The Kush Attic, gave me a couple oil rigs to give away on stage to the attendees. How sweet is that!!?!  We all roamed around with The Herb Leaf, Cannabis.ca's mascot, for a bit while we medicated and talked about what we were doing after 4:20. I gave The Herb a few supers and headed towards the front of the stage. I saw Chris Goodwin there and told him I had prizes to give away but I couldn't really come up with a good idea as to how. All I could figure out was I wanted to use social media to pick the winners. Chris suggested having Mike Rita  bring me up and help me give them away- PERFECT!!!

Paul Lewin (Matt's lawyer, NORML Canada) spoke to the crowd and then Tracy and Opus from Opus Fourtwenty LIVE w/ Tracy Curley headed on stage and spoke about cannabis  legalization while  the beautiful Hash Mob girls held bristle boards that spelled "VOTE"  The crowd was very attentive to them while speaking.  I took a short break from filming and went and sat at the side of the stage for a few minutes to smoke a joint. While I was sitting there I heard Jay Danger performing his music on stage. I ran around to the front of the stage to check out his set and take a picture of him performing. When Jay's performance was over it was comedy time!!!  Mike RIta was the host of this part of the show. He brought up a handful of comics that at times, had the crowd in stitches which is hard to do considering most people are paying attention to their bongs or joints. Like I said, these guys were hilarious!!!

It was time for me to go on stage and give away some prizes. VapeApeUSA.com gave me a vape pen and Adrian gave me the rigs complete with nails. Mike introduced me to the crowd and told them about the contest and I explained the prizes. The first 2 people to tweet me @TheAmyAnonymous with the hashtag #Happy420 would win the prizes. My phone blew up! I realllllly had to scroll through my notifications to find the first and second tweet. I told Mike the winners names and he verified it was their account when they came up to claim their prize.  I had 1 rig left. We decided to ask a trivia question. Maybe it was the meds but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a question, nor could he. We figured out the question "Which year was Toronto's first 4/20 celebration?" He asked the crowd and I told them the 4th correct answer would get the prize. Why did I make it more difficult- nooo idea! I stood on stage desperately trying to get to the first person that answered correctly and work my way to the fourth correct answer. There were so many different answers! 1873, 2014, 0000, 2002 but I finally found the 4th correct one. We announced the winner and congratulated everybody. I thanked Mike and left the stage. I met back up with Rob and a few friends and chatted with the crowd.

4:20 was quickly approaching and I didn't have my blunt in hand.  I ran to the side of the stage where my bag was and grabbed my 4:20 blunt. Dex and I headed on stage where a bunch of other activists, advocates and NEWS crews were. The entire crowd counted down the last 10 seconds till the clock hit 4:20. At that very moment. Everybody either lit up, started vaping or started eating. Seconds after all you could see in the air was thick clouds of smoke. From the stage I couldn't see the other side of the street because the smoke was so thick. The people on stage(and many in the crowd) were smoking enormous joints and passing them around.  People were hugging, high fiving, smoking and swaying to the music.
After celebrating a bit with my friends on stage I went to finish celebrating with my friends offstage. My Bud Masta Rolla was close by. I figured this was the perfect time to talk to him about the glass pieces he makes and also about the beautiful pendant dabber he had given me earlier in the day. Him and I sat down and he explained some of the pieces he brought, including a sword shaped rig! We finished off our blunts & joints and then headed to see if my buddy Benny was at his new shop Boroheads. We got there and he wasn't there so we went to our next destination Get Melted, a grilled cheese cafe with a vapor lounge upstairs. Rob, Dex and I arrived, ordered our grilled cheeses (with lots and lots of pickles on the side!) and made our way upstairs. Neev, the owner of Get Melted and CALM(the dispensary I work at during the day) was  already upstairs warming up the Volcano. He passed the volcano bag around the room while I smoked my first joint sitting down of the day- ohhhh it was nice!! There were about 6 people in the room we were in and we were all talking about the day's event. When the grilled cheeses arrived we scarfed them down. A day full of cannabis smoking can really give you the munchies! We finished our food and then headed in to a different room upstairs to continue recording. Dex set the cam up and I basically did a wrap up of the day while smoking a shatter covered joint that Rob had rolled. Since we started filming at Vapor Central I wanted to end filming at Vapor Central but it was getting late. I knew Mike Rita hosted a comedy show there on Sunday nights and by the time we had finished filming at Get Melted and cabbed to VC, the show had already started. We decided it was time to call it a day.  I went upstairs to say bye and happy 4:20 to a few people and then cabbed home.

The cab was so quiet that it gave me time to reflect on the day and all the craziness that was this year's 4/20.  It was kick a$$! Fabulous day!!! There were more people this year than last. Not one arrest or incident happened. Our city should be proud, really proud!!! So should the organizers! You did a stellar job this year, much like you've done n the past!

Up next: GLOBAL MARIJUANA MARCH!!!!! Saturday May 3rd. See ya there

Lotsa Love,

Milk and Cookies and Cannabis for the Homeless 2013

It’s that time of year again! Time to spread some love and gifts to the less fortunate on Toronto’s streets.  I’m really thinking I should rename this to “Milk And Cookie And Cannabis for the Less Fortunate” … that may happen next year!  Not everybody in this video (or the others) sleeps or lives on the streets. Many stay in shelters, abandoned buildings or stay in other shared accommodations. Their funds are low and essentials we take for granted are luxuries to them.  At the end of the day, ALL these people are in need!
It’s amazing to see a small idea I had 3 years ago become such  an anticipated community event.  I was receiving emails in September asking when and where donations could be dropped off. This year I received almost double the donations than I had received the year before.  That  meant we could include $10 coffee/gift card, socks and scarves - things that were not in the bags the previous years. Our cannabis community really dug deep in their pockets and provided 40 gift bags for people on Toronto's streets.

Here is the video of the people I met and gave our gifts too. THANK YOU to EVERYBODY that took part in helping make this happen!
*Please note: I took it upon myself to hand out cannabis. The people who donated are not responsible for that!

Lotsa Love!!!!!

Amy Anonymous Gets Under the Influence

The Under The Influence of Music tour was in Toronto August 10th. Wiz Khalifa, ASAP Rocky, Trinidad James and a slew of other artists were scheduled to hit the stage- obviously I wanted to check this out! I listen to most of these guys on my way to work. This was def gonna be a good show.

Saturday morning I did my usual stuff. A little retail therapy, a quick stop at Chuck - E- Cheese, Blizzards at DQ  and some baking. I didn’t know if I was going to the show or not so I made some extra baked goods just incase. If you don’t know this about me by now, I LOVE greeting artists/entertainers with fabulous meds when they perform in our city. I think it’s good to show love to our guests so when I can - I do!

I got a phone call from Lola in the late afternoon asking me if I could come down to the Molson Amphitheatre to meet up with ASAP Rocky and the ASAP Mob. “Yup! Yup I could” I replied. I called my girl LiLi up and told her to make her way to my place so we could get downtown asap (no pun intended!)  I got ready, grabbed some cookies, candies and my smokable medicine. By the time I was done organizing my stuff LiLi showed up. We quickly left and started driving downtown to the venue. What was normally a half hour (tops) drive took us almost 2 hours because of traffic and road conditions - BALLS! After a bit of frustration, impressive tactical driving and a lil road rage - we made it!

Lola came and met us at the said gate and brought us to the back. She introduced me to so many people that (I’m not gonna lie) it was hard for me to remember everybody’s names. We saw Joey Bada$$ & his team sitting at the dining tables so we joined them for a smoke and chatted for a bit. I had met him at Yonge and Dundas Square earlier in the summer during NXNE - he put on a helluva show! Before we left the table I gave him a couple candies and cookies and told him to enjoy and that I’d see him later on. Lola brought us upstairs where we met up with Chubbs (OVO) and then went into the ASAP Mob’s dressing room. We said our hellos and introductions and then continued our tour of the back (lol). Next, Trinidad James dressing room. He wasn’t there but his DJ was. Lola introduced us and we chilled for a minute while she signed a skateboard. I showed him some Toronto luv and then we were off to the stage for ASAP Rocky and the ASAP Mob’s set.

Most shows I go to are after 10:00. Usually it’s all dark and you just see people’s silhouettes bouncing around. I’m not used to events in broad daylight so to me it was dang kewl to be able to see the details of the absolute awe and amusement on the attendees faces. The energy on the stage was insane too!  ASAP Rocky & the ASAP Mob were all over the stage- asking the audience questions, encouraging them to sing along. The fans were LOVING it! Joey Bada$$ joined ASAP Rocky on stage to perform “One Train” and before the set ended he performed “Fuckin Problems” and it got LOOOUD! I think every single person there knew the words to that song.. and went ape sh!t the second they heard  the opening beat.

After ASAP Rocky’s performance, Lili and I went out back for a smoke. ASAP Illz came out and escorted us back upstairs to the dressing room. Finally, I could sit down and roll a proper blunt. Only problem was, I forgot my Backwoods at home and didn’t grab any at a store on the way because I thought I was already stocked. BALLS!! Thankfully ASAP Lou had me covered. (If you’re reading this THANK YOU so much! Me not having backwoods on me is...well, it’s unheard of!) I sat down and rolled up some Pink Kush and Orangina. Next thing I know I see a tuna can being handed to ASAP Rocky - it’s Tuna Kush in a can! Normally I see that in a large freezer bag so it was kinda kewl to see it in it’s packaging.. kewl enough that I had to take a picture of it!

Typical me, as soon as the can was opened, I scoped it with my 420 Scope. It looked  (and was) gooood! I passed the microscope around so everybody else could see what they were smoking too. ASAP Rocky asked if we had met before- which we hadn’t. I had actually met his manager and passed off some gifts for him while he was in Toronto a year or so ago.”Ohhh you were the one who made me that basket. Thank you!” he said. I smiled (and probably blushed a bit) To me, that  is the utmost flattery and like I always say, I’m passionate about what I do.

Rolling, smoking, vaping, chatting - In walks Trinidad James!  I was introduced to his music by a friend last fall and have been a fan ever since. Unfortunately I missed watching him perform  BUT it was great to be able to meet him. B.O.B came by, the Weeknd stopped in. The dressing room was crazy!

Wiz was on stage so LiLi and I left for a bit to go watch his set. It was now dark outside and half the crowd was waving their cellphones in the air. There was an enormous lighter and joint running back and forth during “Young, Wild and Free” The crowd was LIVE!! Just before Wiz and the Taylor Gang finished up their set, they brought all the artists on stage to perform with them. It was unreal! After that LiLi and I went back to the dressing room to say our goodbyes. There was an afterparty at Muzik but there was nooooo way I was going there. I had to get home and go back to work. I hugged everybody and told them I’d see them next time they were in the city, handed out a few more cookies and candies, then left.

I got home and had to bake some more. When work was finally done I went to my bedroom, rolled a blunt with the Backwoods I had forgotten earlier, smoked a bit of it and then passed the funk out! All that awesomeness tired me out

Until the next blog...

LotsaLove!!
