Great products. Great people. PHENOMENAL MEDS - This years Treating Yourself Expo was fan-frickin-tastic! Much like last year, I was working at the CALM booth during the expo. Flocks of attendees came to the booth to find out information on how to become a member, ask for tips about approaching their doctors and to smell the lovely ladies we had sitting on the table. (Orangina plants, LOL) At some points I couldn’t see the booth in front of ours - LOVED IT!
I brought medicated cotton candy that I call “Amy’s Cotton Mouth Candy” with me to the expo.
I started making medicated cotton candy a while ago and kept it very hush hush because I figured this expo would be a great place to introduce it. - It was a hit! I believe it was the candy that got me on Q107 which was an awesome moment for me. So remember folks, if ya see medicated cotton candy NOT in the Toronto area, please tell the maker I am flattered.
In the Vapor Lounge I spent a lot of time with my friends and my newest friend, The Verdamper. Like a bong with no fire, I feel I must say that this vaporizer beats any other vaporizer HANDS DOWN! It knocked my socks off. The taste was incredible and the effects... well c’mon obviously impeccable. Every time I had a break I found myself huddled around the table that had 3 of them sitting on it. I really wanted to purchase one but it just didn’t happen. Maybe next year I will bring one home....
This year I also had a VIP Judge Pass. That meant that I got to sample and judge 15 different cannabis strains. Believe it or not, it was hard work! I wanted to be fair and I think I was. With help from a couple friends I sampled them all. Some were put out after a few puffs, other were smoked right down to the filter. Unfortunately I was working during the awards show but I did find out that my top picks were the winners... YAY!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday night were spent at the Vapor Lounge on Yonge Street (not to be confused with the Vapor Lounge at the Expo) Mark from Kush.ca threw a great party Saturday and Sunday night. When I saw a Grey Goose bottle (I may be mistaken) being wrapped in papers I knew it was gonna get crazy. The papered bottle turned into a ½ lb joint right in front of my eyes. The place was packed and the vibes were spectacular. Everybody was there to have fun and I’m pretty sure everybody did.
When the expo was over Sunday, I went back to CALM to drop off our booth’s contents and then headed to Vapor Central to meet up with the Vansterdam crew, our ATP guests and some of my favourite Toronto peeps. It was a great way to wind down from the crazy weekend I had. There were musical performers, comedy and even a magician.
When I finally got home in the early hours of the morning I sat down with an ice cream sandwich and a can of Coke and reflected on the weekend’s events. I had such an amazing time. I met some really awesome people and got to hang out with some of my friends I don’t get to see regularly. It was great seeing the vendors from last year and getting acquainted with the new vendors.. I especially loved the seed breeder booths and Wong Bong’s booth.
I wanted to thank everybody that attended the 2011 Treating Yourself Expo. Thanks for coming by the CALM booth for information, to the vendors for bringing their snazzy innovative products, to Denise and Michael for getting my shirts printed, to Brendan for the cookie shirt design, to all the people who bought my shirts and complimented my Cotton Mouth Candy and extra special THANK YOU to Marco Renda for making this event happen.
LOTSA LOVE
