I take public transit to work everyday. My commute is about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. During this time I often find I need to medicate. Unsure of the rules, I usually take the risk and discretely whip out my vaporizer. I've asked many employees of the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) if I was allowed to medicated on the TTC owned vehicle and everybody has given me the same answer- They have no idea! Today I met a subway driver who has worked there for 32 years. I asked him if I was allowed and he said " In the 32 years I have worked here, I have never been asked that question." We chatted until I got off the subway. I told him I would get to the bottom of this today......and so I did.

Way to go, Amy! Vapes on a bus is awesome, too! Everyone should take a page from this and contact their local transit companies and see what their policy is on MMAR patients being able to use their vaporizers on public transit, without harassment.

in ottawa, the OC Transpo told me that the bylaws say no lighters, or other incendiary devices can be used, no burning, etc. so the Iolite might qualify.
I don't find that that thing provides the dose i need. i would need to literally medicate the entire time i am outside..... which is pretty much the case now.....
i would never medicate on a bus. i have enough trouble NOT punching trogs as it is, if I start doing stuff like that, there will be a scuffle.....

Koodo's to you for doing that. I think all MMAR/ATP members should be less ashamed of their use of Cannabis and turn the tables by using it more publically. I too have an ATP and I make full use of it. I just got a hat(with a big pot leaf) to match my "Legalize It" t-shirt which i wear when i go in to Toronto to pick up my meds at the Compassion Center i belong to. I spend the day smoking and vaping and i usually REEK. I ALWAYS have my MMAR too. I get looks from ppl but it's overwhelmingly positive. Cannabis will lose it's stigma when we stop hiding our use of it!
