'Tis the season to spread love and warmth ... and what better way to do that than giving out winter essentials and hugs to people on our cold Toronto streets.  'Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless' all started in 2011 when I met a man living on the streets that I really wanted to make warm. I would see this man everyday on my way to work and I'd always strike up a conversation with him. As the months got colder he still had the same clothes on he wore in the summer. I brought him some pants from a  friend(they were the same size) and he happily accepted them. I knew I wanted to do more! Not just for him but for others too. That's where the idea of Milk And Cookies And Cannabis for the Homeless came from. I asked friends over social media if they could donate hats and gloves and a few other items and the response was fabulous! Year one I gave out around 25 bags with a pair of gloves, a toque, rolling papers, a lighter and some cannabis in them along with a carton of milk and chocolate chip cookies I made.

We just finished the 6th annual "Milk And Cookies And Cannabis For The Homeless" As you'll see in the video, it's grown so big I needed helpers!! This year's bags included; a winter coat, gloves, a toque, a scarf, hand warmers, socks, toothbrush and tooth paste, deodorant, meal replacment drinks, a free Starbucks drink, a $10 food card to McDonald's or Tim Hortons, rolling papers, a grinder, cannabis, milk and cookies. The bags for women also included a purse FULL of feminine hygiene products and other items like nail files, polish, hand creams, etc.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated, collected items at their locations, helped organize,  and to all who spread the word about this event of giving! John and Julie from Highway magazine and to the ladies from the Green Market , thank you! (I'm sorry your names may have been forgotten in the mentions. Your donations were greatly appreciated!

.......Until next year's Milk and Cookies LOTSA LOVE!

The frosty weather did not prevent the volunteers from providing the necessary support and assistance to those in need. It was a very noble gesture, which gave everyone a happy moment.
